I
was photographing heart surgery and after a couple of hours got
bored. But I had to stay in the operating room, so I got an idea.
Take a picture of myself to prove my existance in that room.
I
set a camera up on a small table located near the patient's feet.
I set it on self-timer and then hurried back to my perch right
above the patient's heart.
Right
about the time I began to "photograph" again a photo
was taken - automatically - by my remote camera. Funny thing about
the photo was it was pretty easy to do, but when the surgeon,
Bill Cohn, saw it he was impressed at the idea and execution.
I thought my photo paled in comparison to his ability to operate
on a beating heart. The take-home lesson was that we we were both
struck by the others' imagination. I like being around people
who keep pushing.
