I
was driving back home after playing tennis one day and decided
to stop by the Goodwill that's near the courts. I thought to check
out the sporting goods section to see if they had anything cool.
I
found this racket, which looked much different from any I have
ever seen. A little Googling showed me that it was made by the
TA Davis company in California in the 1930s or 1940s. It seems
to be a very rare collectible wood racket.
The
wood has been cut and sanded with care, leaving no rough edges.
The grip was attached by hand using small nails. The racket showcases
the natural beauty of the fine wood. When you swing this racket
you feel the balance. It's a treasure.
