I really respect the way these girls' mother handled the photo assignment. She wanted photos of them but left it up to them how they were made.

We made photos that they wanted - such as this one on top of a storm drain. It makes sense to let kids decide how they will be photographed. They like the process of making photos because they can direct their own play. They do so without regard to what the photos will look like.

These three sisters took part in making about a hundred photos that show Jaxie, Stephanie and Allison as they see themselves at this point in their lives. They'll like the photos when they grow up. These are their pictures.
